The Funnel

Every transmission starts with roughly 600 sources and ends with one. Here's how the funnel runs.

The Stack

01 · Discovery

Perplexity Pro

Every transmission begins here. Multi-model search across the open web with inline citations. Filtered hard to .gov, .edu, peer-reviewed journals, declassified archives, named institutions. We treat its answers as a lead — never the final source.

02 · Synthesis

Claude Opus 4.7

Long-context reasoning across the full source list. Opus reads every cited document, cross-references claims, flags contradictions. Its job is to identify the three or four claims worth a full transmission — and the ones that collapse under scrutiny.

03 · Drafting

Claude Sonnet 4.6

Faster iteration on structure, transitions, and reading rhythm. Sonnet drafts. We edit line by line. Every claim in the draft gets traced back to its primary source before the paragraph ships.

04 · Verification

Human + link check

VENUS reads every source cited, at minimum the abstract and findings. Every hyperlink is opened and confirmed before publish. If a link 404s or the source can't be reached, the claim comes out.

Source Hierarchy

  • Tier 1 — Primary / Government

    CIA FOIA Reading Room, NARA declassified archives, Pentagon reports, congressional testimony, court filings
    Default trust. Cite with full document ID.

  • Tier 2 — Peer-reviewed

    PNAS, Nature, JAMA, Physics Essays, NeuroImage, Journal of Scientific Exploration
    Default trust. Note study size, p-value, replication status.

  • Tier 3 — Institutional

    University research labs, named non-profit research institutes (IONS, HeartMath, PEAR archive), museum collections
    Conditional trust. Verify funding and methodology.

  • Tier 4 — Investigative journalism

    New York Times investigations, Vice long-form, named authors with documented track record
    Conditional trust. Used as pointer to primary sources, not as the source itself.

  • Tier 0 — Never cited alone

    YouTube testimonials, anonymous blog posts, Reddit threads, influencer claims, Wikipedia (without following to its citations)
    Never the end of a citation chain.

The Process

  1. 01

    Thesis lock

    One sentence. Falsifiable. Before any research begins. If the evidence later contradicts it, we publish that contradiction, not the original thesis.

  2. 02

    Source sweep (Perplexity)

    Targeted queries to pull 20–40 credible documents. Every URL is opened and confirmed. No URL, no inclusion.

  3. 03

    Deep read (Claude Opus)

    The full source list is loaded as context. Opus reads, cross-references, flags contradictions between sources, identifies the strongest 3–5 claims and the weakest.

  4. 04

    Draft (Claude Sonnet)

    Structural draft built around the verified claims. Every paragraph tied to a source ID. Voice passes are author-driven; facts are tool-assisted.

  5. 05

    Human verification

    Author reads every cited source (abstract + findings minimum). Every hyperlink is clicked and confirmed live. Any failing link or contradiction triggers a rewrite of that section, not a patch.

  6. 06

    Publish + syndicate

    Primary URL on blackswanp.com. Substack cross-post with canonical tag. Spanish version syndicated to Mexican publications with editor consent. Every republication carries the canonical back here.

Guardrails

  • 01No AI-generated claims without a human-verified primary source.
  • 02No Wikipedia without following to its own citations.
  • 03No paraphrased study summaries. We read the study.
  • 04No fabricated statistics. Numbers come from named, linked sources or they come out.
  • 05When evidence is weak, the transmission says so.
  • 06When evidence is strong, the transmission shows the receipts.
  • 07Models change. The rule doesn't: every claim is traceable, every link works.

Who is VENUS?

VENUS is a systems engineer by training, a builder by trade, and a hard-data obsessive by disposition. The real name stays out of the byline on purpose — the work stands on its sources, not on the author's CV.

Every protocol runs through the scientific method: hypothesis, controlled variables, captured telemetry, documented result. He doesn't publish what he hasn't tested. He doesn't test without instruments.

When he runs a protocol on himself — Gateway Process, Wim Hof breathing, remote viewing, biofeedback meditation — he logs every data point he can capture: HRV, EEG, body temperature, session length, conditions, subjective 0–10 scores, coordinates, timestamps. Then he cross-checks the data against the literature.

The tools on this site are what let him scan 600 sources per transmission. The discipline is what makes him ship.

Correction policy

If you find an error in a transmission — a broken link, a misattributed citation, an inaccessible source — email us. Verified corrections are applied to the live article with a visible [CORRECTION — date] marker at the bottom of the article.

When a cited source is taken offline, modified, or moves, the citation is updated and the change is logged. We do not silently edit. Evidence traceability is the product — any change that cannot be audited by a reader breaks the product.
